The Show

Classical because...

This musical is a free adaptation of Bram Stoker's novel- a classic of English literature.

The songs are mostly written on classical romantic symphonies composed at the same time as Bram Stoker's novel.

A classic is eternal and immortal...(As I hope this musical will be one day!)

The show is about classic and timeless fears: illness, getting old, madness, death, loving someone or losing loved ones, losing our identity, country, status, being insecured, feeling powerless, alone, lost, betrayed...And having the choice to ignore those fears and act like an unconcious, to be paralized by them and don't live, or to overcome them and have a chance to learn and grow.

And classic and timeless subjects: superstitions, rationality, science, beliefs, the differences between people, friendship, love...and other subjects each one is free to notice...or not.

The Story

Prologue: The 15th century in the beautiful castle of the young count Dracula. The old Dracula reminds when he was young: he was A Lord in the eyes of his true love but he lost her when the Ottomans invaded his castle. Shattered by the pain and bloodthirsty for vengeance, he made the oath that blood will forevermore be his only sustenance...

Act I: The end of the 19th century in a small village nearby Dracula's castle. Jonathan Harker is Welcomed by the villagers.
Despite the worried warnings sounded like Superstitions, the solicitor is now Welcomed by the Count.
Days go by and Jonathan is more and more nervous between the Children of the Night, those three beautiful Vamps and their Vampire Kiss and this scary Count with his eternal Beating Heart who finally leaves to spread his Contamination in England.
There, Lucy meets her best friend Mina with So Much to Say  even if Mina is far to Know what take so long to Jonathan to come back.
Lucy will be Dracula's first victim, Mina his next target. She reminds him so much his true love.
And about love : the Lord Arthur and the psycho, Dr Seward, make their proposal to Lucy.
Dr Seward losts the game and is So Mad that Renfield will change his minds with his own madness.
Lucy and Arthur finally receive News From Mina in Hungary where Jonathan was found in convalescence in a convent.
But as Lucy, Jonathan is No more who he was, Mina and Arthur are both worried about their love.
By the end of the Act I, despite the help of an enchanted professor Van Helsing, so Pleased to Meet Lucy, and the Transfusion given Drop By Drop by Arthur...Lucy died.
But then Professor Van Helsing exposed such an Irrational fact : she would be the Bloody-Lady and they need to go and visit her at the cemetery for she dies again.

Act II : Renfield discribe a strange Cemetery Visit with three men trying To Free Lucy. Irrational again or just Superstitions ?
After loosing her best Friend, Mina almost Goes Mad because she is pushed away from the adventure but Renfield becomes her best new friend.
Then it is like a Nightmare. Renfield wants to protect Mina but Dracula kills him and imposes himself as her Lord and shares with her his Malediction. Now Mina feels Impure, but Jonathan finds back his courage : even if Dracula escapes, Jonathan won't let his wife be His Countess! The Race Against Time begins, he and all the others must pursue and kill Dracula to free Mina before she dies... But a link units her to the Count now: they see the same things. Mina stays with Professor Van Helsing to go to the Count's castle. And even if the professor is Afraid, he goes in to say the last Goodbye To The Vamps while outside the others engage The Battle against the Count...and At Last everyone is free !!
