With
the workshop of her first musical DRACULA, played in French at the
Theater MOGADOR in Paris, with 8 musicians and 13 singers (including
herself, David Eguren, Sarah Tullamore, Virginie Perrier, Christine
Bonnard, Gilles Avisse, Isabelle Turschwell, Fabian Ballarin, Herve
Lewandowski., Remi Cotta, Christophe Borie...), Cecile ROUZAY is
twice nominated at the Festival the Musicals in France, with Claude-Michel
SCHÖNBERG (Les Miserables, Miss Saigon
) as the President
of the Jury: for the SACD Price for the Best Book, and for the Best
Discovery.
This
French writer and lyricist fond of American musical movies and Disney's
films since her childhood, participates to Oscar Sisto's formation
« The Entertainer in the Musical » in Paris,
finishes to write the book of her second Musical and begins two
others (still without musics yet) and waits for the Stage Entertainment's
decision about producing her DRACULA.
During this time she participates to the creation of the Federation
of the Musical in Paris where she is elected for two years as Delegate
of The Authors.
This Federation had the purpose to develop and promote the musical
theater in France, helping all the trades of the musical theater
to meet each other (singers, dancers, writers, musicians, directors,
stage hands, costume and set designers, producers...) in order to
make it easy to create new projects.
Then
Cecile leaves Paris, becomes a mother and writes and publishes her
first fantastic novel AGATHA.
When
Stage Entertainment, owner of the Mogador Theatre, after almost
5 years studying the project DRACULA, finally decides to not take
the chance to produce their own creation and suggests to Cecile
Rouzay to translate her show in English and try Broadway first...That's
exactly what she decides to do, finally listening to this piece
of advice she already received from professionals in Paris !
She
first writes the English adaptation of a few songs of her DRACULA,
registers them, finds an artistic agent in New York City, then flies
to Big Apple to meet her new agent and musicals schools, to establish
new professional contacts there, visit Broadway Theaters and for
the first time she sees American musicals on stage and assists to
the Tony Awards Ceremony.
A dream comes true ! (...well, several dreams!!)
By
the end of 2019 the English adaptation is completely written and
sent to Broadway's world...
But Broadway (and the entire world) is not ready anymore for anything
during almost three years...
And her new artistic agent in NYC finds a different job.
So
Cecile is now looking for a new artistic agent to contact producers
for her English (or French) version of her musical DRACULA in North
America or in London, Paris...
And
as Mr Walt Disney said :
All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them...
